Working with Digital Bio Imaging is easy! Here is a step-by-step guide to how it works.
Take Home Kit
When you determine that a patient may benefit from microbial imaging, give him or her one of our prepaid kits to take home. Alternatively, you may choose to collect the sample in your office, and mail it from there.
Mail the Kit
Your patient can take home a kit, complete the simple instruction sheet and collect his or her sample. Saliva samples should be collected at least 1-3 hours (longer is preferable, but not necessary) apart from eating, drinking, brushing, flossing, smoking, or chewing gum. Kits should be mailed the same day that they are taken.
Microbial Imaging
We image the sample the same day we receive it, to assure accuracy. This process, together with report preparation, takes roughly 3-6 hours. Each sample is analyzed thoroughly, often prepared more than once using various techniques depending on the microbial consortia, and we take care to develop an accurate picture of each sample.
Discuss with Patient
When the video imagery is complete, you'll receive a PDF which you can then share and discuss with your patient. Feel free to contact us at any time and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have about this process.
