FAQ

Practitioners:

How quickly do you image samples?

To ensure maximal viability, we image samples the same day we receive them, usually within a few hours of receipt.

When will my patient's report be ready?

We complete reports within 10 business days, generally sooner.

How will I receive my patient's report?

We send reports via encrypted links. Older links are removed regularly. If you need to access your patient's report and it's no longer available, contact us.

What genera do you look for in a sample?

We make reasoned and subjective interpretations regarding genera, based on several authoritative sources, but we primarily note cell morphology of spirochetes, gliding rods, vibrio, staphylococci, streptococci, and filamentous forms.

Can you see P. gingivalis?

Not yet, but we are working on culturing methods. Please contact us if you are interested in identifying this species.

Do you do gram stains?

Yes. Please contact us for more information.

Patients:
Can I have [type of bacteria] and still be healthy?

Yes. Our reports identify potentially pathogenic bacteria, but their presence in whole saliva does not mean that they are actively causing disease. However, observed morphological characteristics in context with abundance and motility may point toward disease potential, and should be discussed with your health care practitioner.

Can I pay for my report by check?

Yes. Contact us and let us know you will be paying by check.

Can I contact Digital Bio Imaging regarding my report, or treatment?

No, we are unable to discuss your report, health care concerns, or treatment with you.

We can, however, answer questions about Digital Bio Imaging itself, our website, and payment methods. Contact us and we will be happy to answer your questions.
